Weird & Wacky Spring of 2020

If you find yourself wondering what is going on locally and in the world you are most definitely not alone. With the pandemic playing out all over the world we’ve got a chance to catch a moment of rest and solitude that hopefully will influence us to emerge stronger.

I had planned to launch a new online course. Is it done? No. Why not? Well, there are so many other things to do it seems. I made WordPress websites pretty frequently starting in 2011 and many of my past customers are reaching out to fix their sites. It’s amazing to me how many people use the “set it and forget it” style of website management. So – it’d been a busy time. Where is the domain? The address, phone and hours all need updating. And the content! We’ve got to make sure we are stating things correctly and not talking down to their customers. It always seems to be lots of content writing with phone calls from my old clients.

What have you been doing to keep busy? Are you finding new ways to sell your vintage items? I’ve been doing well on Etsy lately. I finally decided that I could actually raise the price of one of my items by $8 and offer free shipping after all (I was resisting it in a big way). So I took off the standard $12 I was charging and went FREE shipping by adding in $8. I decided that the average shipping cost turned out to be $8. It’s good to make changes like this on your listings. By the way – it’s for a cat cave – here’s the image:

If you’d like one for your kitty here’s the link to Atomic Vogue on Etsy.

My estate sale shopping has stopped. Even the online sales don’t seem to impress me lately. I look for specific items and I am getting much better about turning away from things I think are just “cute” or “interesting.” If it’s one thing I have learned during staying at home this spring is that decluttering is a good thing! A local vintage store here in town actually closed! I think it’s temporary, but not sure now. they wre starting to bring in way too many made in china items made to look vintage and that’s so wrong. I really was starting to be annoyed shopping there to see new stuff pretending to be old next to the real old things. Confusing! lol

Did the artist of this retro 50’s image know about our problems with an airborne virus in 2020? Predicting the futre? But Mom is immune it seems. lol
Maybe this head bonnet is more suited to your style. Let’s start crafting our new headgear?! In this photo I guess kids are immune. Another classic 50s guess of the future.

Hey thanks for reading today. I have not posted in so long it seems. Lots of people have me working on their sites! Today is Friday, so it’s Atomic Vogue day in my office. I hope you are well and continuing to be cautious around groups of people. Bookmark this page for fun, retro and useful marketing downloadables coming soon as well. – Jan
